The Adventure's of the Dicksons

This is me in another part of Glencoe called Glengarry. The loch (lake) below me is famous for looking like the land mass of Scotland. Odd but beautiful.

Here are some other places visited on my highlands tour:
  • Fort William-famous for whiskey (extremely gross)
  • Great Glen
  • Fort Augustus-on Loch Ness
  • Eialan Donin Castle- where 007, parts of bravehart and highlander were filmed
  • Isle of Skye
  • Portree-capital of Skye
  • Trotternisch
  • Urquart Castle-most nessie sightings
  • The clansman hotel's voted 5 star toilets that were broken
  • Inverness- capital of the highlands
  • Culloden Moor- great battle that ended the Scotland's independence
  • Clavacairns- inspiration for a book I read many years ago
  • Many many more but I can't be bothered with writing all of them down

My Australian friends and I on a hunt for Nessie. Left: Kath, Jane, Stacie, Me and in the front Zoe. We had a great time together and I may be able to visit Jane and Stacie in Melbourne someday.

This picture does not do justice to the spectacular scenery of Glencoe. My new favorite place on earth. It has a depressing history but somehow manages to amaze everyone who visits. It feels almost magical.

Let's try this again!

Sorry guys I wasn't able to add my photo's from the highlands so I will try one more time. But first I need to update you on my soon to be ending trip. On Sunday I was able to attend a posh fireworks party on Princes street. I got all dressed up and my date wore a kilt! They were the most fabulous fireworks I have ever seen. They were shot off of the side of the castle and were timed to a live orchastra! It was amazing. Unfortunately I was foolish and left my camera at home, very sad for me! Especially because I wanted to have a photo of me next to a guy in a kilt. I know I am silly but how often do americans get to have that experience?

Cheerio my friends and family
